BEFAR is the first topical treatment for ED. It incorporates alprostadil (PGE-1), a vasodilator drug that increases blood flow with highly defined safety and efficacy characteristics. Alporstadil is recognized as an effective treatment for ED. BEFAR was launched in China in July 2001 and is going to be marketed in the entire Asian region by NexMed (Asia) Ltd. The product is currently in Phase III clinical trials in the US, under the brand name of Alprox-TD. BEFAR is available in a pre-filled dispenser designed to provide controlled dosing of a small amount of medication to the targeted treatment area. BEFAR is easy and convenient to use and may appeal to ED patients who do not wish to take oral, injection, or intraurethral medications. |
